michelle christmas
Michelle came over for Christmas Eve day. She's a very, very special young lady. We like her ... and it seems Isaiah does as well. Now we just need to find more chairs ... apparently we have a shortage.

christmas dvd's
We did good on the DVD front this Christmas. We gave each other the following:
Here's Overture from Black Symphony.
And blaring right now in the other room (heard throughout the house) is The Howling.
- Alfred Hitchcock - The Legend Begins (contains 20 classics)
- Black Symphony - Within Temptation & the Metropole Orchestra
- Harrison Ford Triple Feature (Witness, Patriot Games, What Lies Beneath)
- Wall-E

idm story
Today we had lunch with Isaiah, his girlfriend Michelle, and her parents. I was quite impressed with them and thought I'd share the link to the story Michelle's father Ian wrote regarding the company he believes God led him to start.
His company is IDM and this is their story.

head of the eagle
Today we went to the Head of the Eagle regatta in Indianapolis. Again GMRC did great. Angela rowed in the women's jr. novice 4. Their time placed them first but they were disqualified because they did not get to the start line on time. Oh well, their time was great. She also rowed in the women's jr. novice 8 placing second.Mostly, she had a lot of fun.
My pictures from the event can be found here at the Walgreen's site.

speakmon regatta
The Greater Miami Rowing Center participated in the 25th Annual Jack Speakmon Memorial Regatta in Columbus, Ohio yesterday. Click here to see all of my photo's from the event.
The team results were amazing given the club has only had a high school team for less than 2 years.

sichuan and fire
Angela and I went to the Sichuan Bistro near us last night. I loved the food but it was a bit spicy for her ... she turned kinda red while eating ... too much fire for her.PS - Speaking of fire, I forgot to mention it but Barb and I went to Fireproof last week. Great movie! It's basically about a couple on the brink of divorce, each wants the other to change, the husband's father gives him some advice which the husband thinks will get the wife to change, in the course of executing that advice the man is the one that changes = he becomes a Christian - and well you get the rest. Go see it!

ruiz missions
NSV is one of several partners of a JEM Ministries in Juarez, Mexico. JEM Ministries serves the orphaned and marginalized of Juarez by meeting the spiritual and practical needs of the community.
For the past 7 years we've served in Juarez, and for the last 2, have specifically been building on a 12,000 square foot orphanage/trade school campus for JEM. JEM Ministries is lead by Pastor Jesus Ruiz and his wife, Maria. Maria was awarded CNN's Heroes award for her daily commitment to crossing the border from El Paso to Juarez, MX. And she's now made the final top ten 'Heroes' and has been rewarded $25,000 for their ministry.
But that's not all. If she wins the top 'Hero of the Year' award, which is announced on Thanksgiving night on CNN (9pm EST), she will win an additional $100,000 dollars. The winner is based on who gets the most votes. Go vote now! Please.
Here's their CNN video segment and story.
